If you are coming to Zakynthos for the first time, Zante Town is a very lively place with many hotels, shops, restaurants, bars, and cafés. Here you can admire Bochali Hill, known for its panoramic views of the bay, Zakynthos Town, and a Venetian fort.

As you wander around the city, Solomou Square stands out, as well as the Byzantine Museum which displays beautiful Ionian artworks as well as a reconstruction of Zante Town before the earthquake. In the evening, head to Agios Markos, an ideal spot for sipping a cocktail and enjoying local dishes.

Like most Greek islands, the best season to visit Zakynthos is spring. Between April and early June, you'll enjoy pleasant temperatures, with warm water for swimming and a sufficiently pleasant climate to explore Zante Town on foot and participate in outdoor activities.

The months of July and August display warmer temperatures. However, this is also the peak tourist season, so expect higher rates and much larger crowds. At best, travel in September to enjoy warm temperatures, or in October for better prices!
