Your trip to the city of a hundred towers is coming up soon, but you still don't know where to stay in Prague? Well, I invite you to read this post to learn more about accommodation options. Here, you'll find out more about the neighborhoods to prioritize and the most interesting hotel addresses in the city

Prague, the picturesque capital of the Czech Republic, is an enchanting destination that captivates travelers from around the world. With its unique blend of history, remarkable architecture, and lively atmosphere, the city offers an unforgettable experience! Ideal for history enthusiasts and art lovers, Prague promises many beautiful discoveries. Moreover, it is a beautiful destination for a romantic weekend

Its historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is teeming with architectural gems such as Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and the Old Town Square with its famous astronomical clock. It's also a vibrant city, where old and new mix with trendy cafes, gourmet restaurants, designer boutiques, and contemporary art galleries...

Ideally, I recommend staying in the historic center of Prague. This area houses the majority of the city's tourist attractions, which is great for slightly shorter stays. However, keep in mind that the public transport network is efficient and inexpensive, so you can easily get around.

Prague is quite a large city, so there are numerous accommodation options. It's obvious that prices are higher in the Old Town, so make your reservations in advance. Of course, you can stay outside the center, especially if your trip lasts more than 4 days!

But one rule never changes: book as early as possible. The best hotels always go first, so to avoid falling back on a lower-quality establishment, plan ahead!

The Staré Město neighborhood, also known as the Old Town, is one of the most iconic and historic areas of Prague. Located in the heart of the Czech capital, it provides a fascinating glimpse into history, architecture, and culture, making it the ideal place to settle down!

Staré Město is dominated by the famous Old Town Square, one of the most vibrant places in Prague. At the center of the square is the impressive astronomical clock, a medieval marvel that attracts a crowd of curious onlookers every day to observe its parade of animated figures.

The streets of the Old Town are lined with preserved historic buildings, many dating back to the 14th to 16th centuries; the colorful houses and ornate facades reflect the influence of Gothic and Baroque architecture. Among the remarkable buildings are the Church of Our Lady Before Týn with its slender spires and St. Nicholas Church, a masterpiece of Czech Baroque...

Of course, you will see many cafes, restaurants, shops, and art galleries, as well as street musicians, artists, and artisans selling their creations. Staré Město is also an ideal starting point to explore other sights in Prague, such as Charles Bridge, which connects the Old Town to the Malá Strana neighborhood, or the Jewish Quarter of Josefov with its rich history!

Josefov, the former Jewish neighborhood of the capital

josefov prague

This neighborhood has special importance due to its deeply rooted Jewish heritage, which you will observe if you stay here. Josefov is an area filled with history and things to discover! I recommend this spot if you enjoy picturesque settings!

In past centuries, Josefov was the center of Jewish life in Prague, with its synagogues, schools, cemeteries, and residential areas. Unfortunately, much of the neighborhood was destroyed in the 19th century during the city's urban restructuring. However, some parts have been preserved and continue to testify to Jewish history and culture...

One of the most remarkable attractions is the Old-New Synagogue, the oldest active synagogue in Europe today. It's an architectural gem and a symbol of Prague's Jewish community. Nearby, you'll find the Jewish cemetery, where thousands of graves from centuries ago remind us of the region's rich Jewish past.

Another point of interest is the Jewish Museum of Prague with its fascinating exhibitions on Jewish history and culture in the Czech Republic. Valuable items, such as Torah scrolls and ritual objects, are also on display. Be sure to visit the Jewish artisans' shops!

In short, Josefov is a fascinating neighborhood that embodies Prague's Jewish heritage. With its historic synagogues, ancient cemetery, and museum, you will be immersed in history...
