Located in the west of Sicily, Trapani is not a very large city, although it stretches from west to northeast. To find accommodation, you'll need to strategize by targeting your search in the historic center where most of the tourist attractions and points of interest are located.

Staying near the Trapani train station, situated in a more central area a 10-minute walk from the historic heart, is also a great choice if you're just passing through. Heading a little further north, the area around Piazza Vittorio Emanuele is also interesting! It connects the modern and old parts of Trapani with stunning monuments and several restaurants

But if you prefer to enjoy beach activities, I recommend staying near Lido San Giuliano for its maritime setting and its beach for relaxation. This area is quite far from the historic center, located to the north, but it has its own charm.

To save you time, I want to share my favorite places to stay in Trapani! You can find all these establishments on Booking.

Using a site like Booking allows you to efficiently compare accommodations that interest you for a given destination. This way, you can be sure to find the hotel, guesthouse, or even apartment that best meets your needs while respecting your budget

At the western tip of the island, Trapani's historic center enjoys a unique location stretching along a strip of land between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Mediterranean. It is an excellent choice to stay to enjoy the monuments and discover the architectural heritage of Trapani, heavily influenced by the Romans, Greeks, Arabs, Normans, and Phoenicians. It's a whole history!

The historic heart is characterized by narrow streets, baroque churches, and remarkable aristocratic palaces. Notable points of interest include the San Lorenzo Cathedral featuring baroque style and built in the 14th century, and the Chiesa del Purgatorio, known for housing the statues of the Mysteries, carried during the Holy Week processions to celebrate the Passion of Christ ⛪️

The fish market, or Mercato del Pesce, gathers locals coming to get seafood caught overnight... One can also admire the beauty of the Torre di Ligny watchtower which offers a view of the Egadi islands, where the Museo di Preistoria e del Mare is located. Depending on the length of your stay, consider also visiting Villa Nasi and the Lazzaretto located at the end of the bay...

From an accommodation perspective, you'll definitely find something! The accommodations are quite varied and prices cater to all types of travelers. However, I recommend booking as early as possible, especially if you're visiting Sicily in summer. Trapani is a very popular destination among tourists!

Not far from the Trapani train station is the must-visit Piazza Vittoria Emanuele! The advantage of this area is that it allows easy parking if you've rented a car in Sicily. This central point of local life is named after the first king of Italy after the unification of the country in 1861. This location brings you a little closer to the bay and Trapani beach, although it distances you slightly from the historic center.

Piazza Vittorio Emanuele is a popular meeting place for locals! It is filled with cafes, restaurants, and small shops in a friendly atmosphere... Although accommodations are fewer in this part of town, you can find some nice and not overly expensive places. It's therefore an interesting area to stay in Trapani.

Heading a bit further north towards Casa Santa, you can enjoy Lido San Giuliano for relaxing, swimming, and spending time in the sun. This beach offers a beautiful expanse of golden sand and clear waters easily accessible from downtown. Not far from there is the Tonnara Tipa, the ruins of an old tuna factory. Although only ruins remain, the site can make for a lovely walk

In the evening, Lido San Giuliano offers spectacular sunsets! It is clearly a place where one can enjoy the natural beauty of Trapani while having access to numerous amenities. There are several establishments available, provided you book as quickly as possible... Due to their prime location by the beach, hotels have higher rates.
