The project Know Your Home will start soon, at the end of May, from Canada. Although we won't arrive in Central America until early 2020, I'm already looking at the places that interest me the most in the 3 countries I haven't visited yet, namely Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama.

By the way, here's where you can take a look at the countries in Central America that we have already visited.

My goal? The photos in this article are nice, but they aren't mine. I'm challenging myself to visit these places and bring back even more beautiful photos!

Will you come dream with me?

Nicaragua

Did you know that the largest freshwater island is located in Nicaragua? Now you do!

But since that might not be enough to convince you, consider this: Omepete has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2010 for its biosphere. As a bonus, the island is full of petroglyphs and stone idols.

More islands, but this time it's a whole archipelago I'm suggesting. Yes, there are petroglyphs again, and yes, it's still freshwater, but the place is also known for its freshwater sharks that I dream of meeting, and especially for a remarkable absence: on its 36 islands, almost no habitation has electricity. For me, who enjoys the calm to admire the stars in the sky, this seems like quite a magical place!

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is already in the minds of almost everyone as a nature-oriented country. So if I tell you that this park contains 2.5% of the planet's biodiversity, I think I don't need to say more... There's no way we won't spend several days there!

Because it's not just the freshwater sharks of Nicaragua, and since it's been 18 months since I last went diving, I think this island and its surrounding national park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, will be the perfect spot for my underwater passion!

Panama

Another archipelago, but this one has a special history for us. A few years ago, before starting this blog, we were considering buying a piece of an island in this archipelago and opening a guesthouse.

Lack of financial means and a regulation that was both vague and complex prevented us from pursuing this route at the time.

Ah, those parallel lives... Who knows? Maybe the prophecy will come true!

Barú Volcano

Yes, because since the beginning, I've talked a lot about beaches, but Central America also has a lot of volcanoes! And Barú Volcano is one of those areas where I dream of hiking to the summit and feeling like I'm on one of the roofs of the world.

And You?

So, tell me which places in these 3 countries make you dream or which ones you loved? It would be a shame if we missed out on a hidden gem!
