Do you dream of a vacation and wonder where to go for sunny weather in April? Visiting Menorca, in the Balearic Islands, is a fantastic vacation idea! If you're considering discovering the island, you're probably looking for a place to stay in Menorca. In this guide, I will suggest the best places to stay on the island as well as some activities to do depending on where you stay.

Although quite small, Menorca, with its picturesque coves, traditional villages, and preserved natural heritage, is a true gem! It's a popular destination for those seeking white sandy beaches with crystal clear waters and spectacular landscapes.

Unlike Mallorca and Ibiza, Menorca is calm, peaceful, and less crowded. In addition to its natural beauty, the island has a rich history and a unique culture resulting from British, French, and Spanish influences. You can explore prehistoric ruins, must-see monuments, or even the picturesque old town of Ciutadella!

What is the best place to stay in Menorca?

Menorca is a very diverse island with its wild landscapes, mountains, and numerous beaches. So, no matter where you stay on the island, there will be plenty of activities to do. But, what is the best area to stay in Menorca?

Fortunately, the island isn't very large, and all the points of interest are close to each other. If you want to visit cultural and tourist sites, then I highly recommend staying in cities like Ciutadella and Mahon.

On the other hand, for those who prefer water activities and relaxation, choose the south of Menorca where you'll find the most beautiful beaches: no less than 75 in total! Finally, in the north of the island, you will find wilder beaches and preserved coves as well as hiking trails. This area is perfect for nature lovers.

However, if you want to stay close to virtually every point of interest, that's definitely possible if you stay in town. Many hotels are indeed located near the beaches and tourist centers in Menorca.

Ciutadella is clearly ideal for staying in Menorca. It is the second most important city on the island and offers a wide variety of accommodations. This city is highly appreciated for its historical heritage, especially the old town that attracts many tourists!

Ciutadella has a rich history and equally impressive architecture. Its historic center is a true maze of narrow cobbled streets lined with golden stone buildings, featuring lively squares, baroque churches, and historical palaces that must be visited.
